Igniter Assembly
The igniter generates sparks to ignite gas. Begin by verifying compatibility with the stove model. Secure the igniter module in a dry, vibration-free zone, ensuring wires are routed away from heat sources. Use dielectric grease on connectors to prevent corrosion. Test functionality by triggering the ignition cycle; a weak or absent spark indicates faulty wiring or component degradation.
 
Ignition Electrode Positioning
The electrode delivers current to the spark plug. Align it parallel to the burner head, maintaining a 1/8-inch gap from the ground electrode. Tighten the retaining screw firmly but avoid over-torquing, which can warp the ceramic body. Inspect for carbon buildup—clean with fine-grit sandpaper if residue disrupts spark transmission. Replace electrodes showing pitting or erosion.
 
Thermocouple Integration
The thermocouple acts as a safety sensor, shutting off gas if flames extinguish. Position its tip within the flame’s primary cone for accurate temperature detection. Secure connections using brass fittings to resist thermal expansion. Test by manually extinguishing the flame; gas should cut off within 30 seconds. Calibrate sensitivity by adjusting the thermocouple’s depth relative to the burner.
 
Final Checks
Conduct a leak test with soapy water post-installation. Ensure all wires are shielded from moving parts. Document component serial numbers for future maintenance. Regularly inspect thermocouples and electrodes for wear, as proactive replacement avoids service disruptions.
